Programme for the 14 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1 - Arrival Day at Entebbe International Airport

You will be received by your driver / guide at Entebbe Airport, transfer to the Hotel, check in and get a little briefing of the next days programme of your 14 Days Uganda Wildlife & Cultural tour.

Accommodation: Golf Course Hotel / Cassia Lodge.

Day 2 - Travel to Murchison falls, Rhino tracking and top of the falls visit.

The driver will be at your Hotel by 6:45 am to pack the bags into the safari van. We set off from Kampala at exactly 7:00 am after our morning breafast for our Murchison falls, Rhino tracking, and top of the falls tour of the days activities driving through Luwero where we pick a couple of fruits like oranges, passion fruits and pineaples to the Nakasongola district with a long stretch filled with Acaccia plants to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking, the tracking may take us up to 2 hours depending on where the Rhinos are feeding from. Continue for lunch at the Kabalega Dinners on the Gulu highway to Masindi town for re-fueling and continue to the park for the Top of the Murchison falls visit.

Day 3 - Game drive and Boat ride on the Victoria Nile

Have an early morning breakfast and continue for a 4 hour Game drive in Murchison falls National Park. It is another great morning yet to get only a few meters away from the Giraffes, Jacksons heartbeasts, Warthogs, Jackals, Elephants, Lions, leopards and the Hippo Pool for breakfast.

Return at 11:00 am and continue to our lodge for freshening up and lunch.

At 2:00 pm, we get onto a boat and start a 3 hour ride on the Victoria Nile River with sightings of the great Nile Crocodiles, Buffaloes, Hippos, black and white colobus monkeys with lots of birds, you will be shown the crash point of Ernest Hemingway.

Day 4 - Travel to Fort portal town

We wake up at 6:10 am, pack our bags, have our breakfast and get ready for our journey to fortportal town. If we spend our night at Paraa Safari Lodge or had a camping safari, we have to be ready to cross the Nile River at 7:00 am. We drive along the rift valley Lake, Albert with a great view point at the escarpment lying at an altitude of 615m between two parallel escarpments - the western side rising abruptly to nearly 2000m above sea level.

Continue the drive through Hoima town for lunch at Kolping Hotel, arrive in Kyenjonjo on a tarmac road later arriving in Fortpotal town for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 - Semulki National Park and Kibale National Park

Early morning drive to Semuliki for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours. Enter the Semuliki national park and start the nature walk activities, walking through the pygmy families, visit the hot springs, walk along the Semuliki river with lots of birds species, hippos and many more.

Return later and drive to Kibale National Park for an overnight.

Day 6 - Chimpanzee tracking OR Habituation in Kibale National Park

Morning breakfast, and get to the briefing area at 7:45 am as you get ready for the Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest. Return later in time for lunch, evening nature walk at the Bigodi wetland for yet another chance of seeing other primates like the vervet monkeys, and lots of Birds.

Day 7 - Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park along the crater lakes and on to the main road. Check in on time at your lodge for lunch and get ready for an evening visit to lake Katwe for a local salt mining tour and a visit to the local fishing village.

Day 8 - Game drive and boat ride on the Kazinga Channel

We shall have an early breakfast and get to the game trails for our morning game drive in search of lions, leopards, elephants, hippos and many antelopes. At 4:00 pm, we have a 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel with more sightings of buffaloes in the water, elephants along the katwe fishing village and some crocodiles.

Day 9 - Travel to Ishasha and Bwindi Forest National Park.

In the morning, drive to Isahsha plains for more wildlife like Topis and common tree climbing lions in the fig trees. Also, get along the Ntungwe river separating Congo and Uganda for thousands of hippos in the pool.

We may drive a little bit into Congo for a photo taking moment. Continue driving to Bwindi for an overnight as you get ready for the next days Gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 10 - Gorilla tracking day

We shall have early morning breakfast and report to the park headquarters by 7:30 pm for a briefing on Gorilla tracking etiquette. After the briefing which is at the entrance of the park and starting point for Gorilla tracking you shall penetrate the Impenetrable Forest to look for these gentle giants under the guidance of a knowledgeable ranger guide.

The time taken tracking highly depends on how fast you will locate a gorilla community. It can take from a few minutes to an entire day. You shall return from this thrilling but highly tiresome adventure to a relaxation in your lodge.

Day 11 - Nature / Community walk to visit the Batwa people in Bwindi

The Batwa people in Bwindi, or the twa as called by the locals, are one of the last pygmie people found in Uganda. They leave in Bwindi forest and still leave the stone age life style in the Bwindi area. Our tour to the community of the pygmies will take us deep into their daily life style, old farming techniques,and their unique fire making in wood and long jumps. It is said the Batwa people have lived in the thick forest for more than 4000 years.

Day 12 - Travel to Lake Bunyonyi - Relaxation day.

After breakfast, drive to lake bunyonyi through the Ruhija section of Bwindi forest and along Lake bunyonyi. We shall relax by the beautifull lake as we take a couple of drinks.

Day 13 - Morning canoeing and travel to Lake Mburo National Park

We have a morning canoeing and drive to Lake Mburo National Park foranevening boat ride. Lake Mburo is a small park and we shall mainly see lots of Zebras, Topis, watetrbucks, the beautiful Elands, giraffes even before we enter deep into the park. Continue to the lake for an evening boat ride.

Day 14 - Morning game drive travel back to Kampala for evening flight.

We shall take an early morning Nature walk mainly in search of the nocturnal park creatures like owls, hyenas, leopards etc, check out, breakfast and continue back to Kampala for an evening / latenight flight. Lunch will be at the Uganda equator.
